Effective 24 August 2026
Terms of Use
These terms govern the Accord Trace experimental public API and website operated by Accord Trace project.
1. Experimental service
The service is pre-release and may change, be limited, suspended or withdrawn. Anonymous free access does not create a support, availability, retention or service-level commitment.
2. What Accord Trace does
Accord Trace calculates cryptographic hashes, records service timestamps, signs proof records and verifies its attestations and optional content matches. It does not decide whether an action, claim, agreement, approval or outcome is true, authorised, complete, commercially fair, legally valid or enforceable.
3. No legal notary
The service is not a legal notary, identity provider, escrow, payment processor, cryptocurrency service, KYC provider, truth oracle or commercial decision-maker. A proof is technical evidence and not a guarantee of identity, performance, legality or agreement quality.
4. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for submitted data, authority, key and identifier handling, required notices and consents, and compliance with law. Do not submit unlawful content, malware, secrets, unnecessary personal data, deceptive evidence or material you are not authorised to process.
5. Public metadata
Proof metadata is publicly retrievable by proof ID and designed to be immutable. Do not include confidential content. Raw evidence is not intentionally stored, but a low-entropy evidence hash may still permit guessing of the underlying value.
6. Acceptable use
You must not bypass limits, probe other systems, interfere with operation, forge service identity, misuse credentials, automate abusive traffic or use Accord Trace to facilitate harm. Access may be restricted to protect security and reliability.
7. Free tier
The anonymous tier is provided without an account and subject to published payload and rate limits. Future hosted services may have separate pricing, but no use of this tier authorises a charge.
8. Open materials
Repository materials identified as MIT-licensed may be used under that licence. Service marks, hosted infrastructure and third-party materials are not granted under the MIT licence.
9. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, accuracy, fitness, non-infringement or legal effect. Verification does not eliminate compromised keys, incorrect inputs, endpoint compromise or observation gaps.
10. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Accord Trace project is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary loss, lost profits or data, or reliance on a proof as a commercial or legal judgment. Rights that cannot lawfully be excluded remain unaffected.
11. Changes
We may update the service and these terms and will post a new effective date. Continued use after changes is subject to the updated terms.
12. Contact
Questions may be sent to replace-before-launch@example.invalid. Production launch is blocked until legal identity, contact and governing-law details are confirmed.
